Sj 413 Box same as Samurai?
Hi i have a SJ 413 (1986) with a 5 speed box, will a Samurai box fit straight on? Mine has a bad bearing and just looking to replace the box. I have been offered a Samurai one.

I think there's a slight difference in some ratios, but other than that
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

sorry to bug you guys ..is the 410 samurai on a 1990 gear box different to the 413 ?
Re: Sj 413 Box same as Samurai?
410 samurai? They don't exist do they?
The gearbox for the 1.0l engine has a smaller bellhousing and won't fit the 1.3l

Re: Sj 413 Box same as Samurai?
Hey i have a 1.0 ltr samurai here in spain 5 speed first registered in 1994 but on the inlet manifold it says 89 ..its just im getting confused with all the 413 410 samurai sj its all a mish mash to me and if the 5 speed fitted is the same as a 413 i wont need to change it just get an adaptor plate..im thinking i have the result of useing up whats left in the factory maybe??
Re: Sj 413 Box same as Samurai?
Interesting, well as far as I'm aware all the 1.0ls will use the same gearbox and they are different to the 1.3 gearboxes, I don't think there is any way to make the 1.0 gearbox work with the 1.3 or 1.6 as the bellhousing is physically too small for the 1.3flywheel and that's what you'll be using for the 1.6 conversion.
I'm intrigued now, I wonder if the 1.0 samurais use the wider samurai axles rather than the narrow 410 and 413 axles? Could you post some pics up of your sj please

Sure it's not a 1.0 litre Santana?
