Re: K Series engines
Really? Bizarre. My dad must have hoarded them all. He has more 80s/90s Vauxhall parts then Vauxhall do. He has at least 9 complete engines in his garage. I think one is a red top, one's a |6, one's a V6, one's a Frontera diesel and the rest are 2.0s, some black top ecotech ones, some older. He's also got more gearboxes than he knows what to do with. He's planning on putting the Omega V6 with a 6 speed box from a Vectra into an old MK2 Astra
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Re: K Series engines
I've done the 1.5td conversion. It's a very good fit and easy to do (ish). I used an omega gearbox you have to modify the slave cylinder and get and mount a clutch master cylinder but that's easy enough and then you have a nice light hydraulic clutch plus omega gearbox's are 10 a penny! You need a manta clutch friction plate and can re-use the corsa pressure plate.
The only thing I will say is it's awesome off road but not good if you do long commutes on fast roads, doesn't bother me. But you do need a BIG radiator to stop it gettin too hot.
