A mate of mine who is very good with the spanners did this, not once but twice with a similar outcome. SO be very careful when putting the head gasket back in. it might look right, but apparently there is an oil feed hole that "could" be covered up.ScottieJ wrote:If the cam has seized it must not be getting oil? Is there any chance you put the head gasket on wrong and blocked an oil passage? I've read that its easy to do?

Yer cheers for that i am going to make 100% sure as it will be hard to find another head if i screw this one up. the only other thing is that my oil pump has broken in the time it was out of the car but it is unlikely. I need to do a bit more research on the oil system to make sure nothing else is wrong but the only think i have done is take the head off so i am going to go with the head gasket blocking it.Ladaman wrote:A mate of mine who is very good with the spanners did this, not once but twice with a similar outcome. I thought I'd look into this head gasket and from I can see you can't fit it wrong (or is that just me)

They can physically be put on 180 deg out. But you would have to be pretty distracted not to notice. I have chucked one on in a hurry then turned around to pick up the head and turned back and realised straight away.

Re: URGENT HELP ! Cam belt slipped.
Thanks guys,
the one I ordered previously was off ebay, i matched the engine code but when it came down the whole's for the aligning pins where not big enough so i had to force the pins through to make them bigger, and some of the water ways where slightly out but not much. some had a bridge where my block didnt. so i will check this oil whole to see if i had it lined up ect and check its not blocked.
and this time ill go to Suzuki specialist and buy the gasket locally

Re: URGENT HELP ! Cam belt slipped.
it it is the wrong way round it will stick out of some sides/corners on one side and leave a gap on others.
If it lines up with the outline of the head all the way round its on the right way round.
