Rear diff seal

Post by Turb() » Sun Jan 22, 2012 5:47 pm

Hi,

I think the seal is knackered on my rear diff. There is some oil leaking out where the prop goes in...
How much are they to replace and are they easy to do?

Seals not very pricey but the jobs a bitch if you do it properly. New crush collar, loads of setting up. If it's only leaking a little I would check the vent/breather is not blocked and just top it up now and again. I've not changed one but have read a lot about setting it back up

Is there any play in the pinion bearing? I.e. can you move the flange from side to side, In or out?
