hey Ian......regarding your seats.....i fitted the seats from an early mazda mx-5 but i fitted the ones with the seperate headrests as they are much less intrusive on space .....they were very simple to fit with their own runners and have proven to be fabulously comfortable for my 6'3" frame......firm and very supportive in all the right places and far superior to the originals i replaced ( your butt is the connection to the vehicle so very important to find the right ones).....i did a 1000 mile trip down to portugal and remained relaxed and fresh the whole journey so highly recommended

I am still loving this truck and it works hard in the forests down here in portugal

nice one, ive got my eye on some standard subaru seats from an 07 impreza. will probably go for these. any way,

hows your ride going, you need to post some pics of it.

bit of a update, bearings ordered, picking them up tomorrow. £30 each, cylinders ordered £15+vat each and pads ordered £27.

Hi,

Picked up the new rear wheel bearings today, I haven't cut the old ones off yet but do you guys recon they are right , I didn't know the centre was raised on one side, I take it that goes towards the wheel cos I didn't see a lip in the one on the shaft, but it was covered in mud and crap and I haven't bothered cleaning it yet. Any info would help

Yep thats correct, some bearings come with the lip and others dont the ones that dont have a lip have a 4mm spcer between the shaft flange and the bearing, so yes the lip goes on the wheel side.

if youu have the 4mm spacer with the old wheel bearings just remember to remove it :lol:

Tidy, Thought as much. I've got Friday off so I'm going to pick up the rear cylinders and spend the day on the axle, should be able to finish it. That's if I can find a press to use.

Also picked up some brake pipe and fittings so I can do the axle line so ill just be able to roll it under and connect up. :)
Also I ordered a brake line spanner off eBay which came today. Thought it was a neat idea means some how I always end up Rounding them off lol. Just waiting for shoes to come in the post.

ahh yes, the old, ' forgot that a few of the SJ's i think more the japs then spanish, dont have a whole big enough to slot the bearing through so if you do the bearings you have to remember to put the back plate on first' thing?

Yep, Forgot the plate and the hole was to small for the bearing.

Lucky I realised some thing was missing, before I put the ring on. I don't think I would have got both off intact.

And to top it off the gas ran out on the mig so I cant weld on my new brackets to hold the brake lines. :(

Never mind still loads to do
