A controlled fire maybe :smokin:

Do you want to remove the black tar like layer as well? I've heard that if you fill the footwells with ice and get them really cold it goes brittle and you can chip it off, not tried that myself though?

It evaporates quickly we rub/wash it down after, just in case, but you'd literally have to be smoking while doing it for it to go up, well I've not had a problem n I work with static plexi and plastics

I used a grinder to get rid on the tar stuff... worked quite well in the end haha

Thanks for your replies peeps.

Tried Petrol - not great.
Now using White spirit and wire wool - very arm achey slow but getting there.

Eats me rubber gloves though

what about a wire brush attachment on a hand drill? that would speed it up and save your elbows.

Some of mine had gone dry and cracked which I chipped off easily with a chisel.

The rest was quickly buzzed off with a 100mm wire wheel in the grinder.

Have learned to let the glue go yellow in the air for 48 hrs then wire brush in drill whisks it away. Where I used white spirit it remains a gooey mess - be warned!
