Was Ralph's Tin Top, Now it's Adams after 2 other owners.

Post by ScottieJ » Mon Feb 27, 2012 12:14 pm

We Just picked up a Tin Top 410 for my Father to use as a daily drive, Didn't take him long to want another SJ, he's had quite a few in the past! well I say picked up, it's been sat on the farm for a few years and I had been planning on buying it for a while but my dad decided he wanted it so it was a case of negotiating a price with my mate and dragging it into the workshop.

Its a Spanish 410 with a 5speed gearbox and it should tidy up nicely. There's only a few patches of rust to weld up and they are all easy fixes. Should be quite quick to get it on the road as I have most of the bits that it needs.

a few pics for you guys

Came with this hideous bumper so that didn't last long, might find a stock one for it?

Pulled the dash as we need to fit a new wiper motor and remove the heater for a clean, the grill on the scuttle is full to the brim with crap!

Well it came with no engine where it's supposed to be  however there was two in the back to choose from, one was a little stubborn to turn over at first but we let some oil soak in the cylinders for a while and it free'd up nicely, seems like it has good compression so we will fit that one and hope it's good. The F10a is a strong little engine so fingers crossed! we're planning on rebuilding both engines and turboing them eventually, one will go in the LJ80 :brows:

Brilliant, I'm jealous of all the finds you lads down south get!

The bumper is :yuk: I say stick an original one on..... but I would!

As usual you always find more rust the more you look, still it's not that bad!

My dads made a start cutting out the rust and starting a few patches.

This one has been sat in a field for at least 5 years so that might have something to do with it
