1. Suitable fan - relay - Thermostatic switch - Control switch - fuse holder - suitable cable - off warning lamp (if wanted).
2. Yes, but I would only fit an off switch as the thermostatic switch will switch it on when needed.
3. The old viscous fan will be removed and the waterpump should be fine (not heard of balancing it)

How easy to fit ?? - quite easy I say. Does depend on what thermo switch/control switch you use.

Very easy to fit
Darrell is right with the parts needed.
I removed my viscous fan, did the bolts up evenly then cut the ends off them.

If you are putting in an off switch I would definitely wire in a light... then you wont be driving around with the fan off without realising

cheers guys i got most of that stuff laying around the workshop appart from the fan and the sender unit , twiss showed me his one he got from fleebay but i cant justiy that much or shall i just bite the bullet , sureley there must be cheaper altenatives , this is one he showed me

Well I've just had a long search round and haven't found the same, let alone cheaper. Yes I've found the aluminium fitting for only about £8 but all the threads are 1/8npt to allow you to fit a temperature sender. This is no use as you need a fan switch and the threads are bigger. Fan switches seem to be about a tenner but again you need one to match those correct temperature on/off settings as the one twiss has does.
The cheap option is a capillary fan switch, much cheaper but not such a good fit as they can often leak where the sensor fits... off for a "google" Darrell.

yeah thats all i have been finding the 1/8npt 8pound ones , sod it if i have to get that one then i will, but for the mean time i shall keep looking , thanks darrel

if iwas to buy the one below , would it matter is i was to cut it into the top or bottom rad hose? , as the tiop hose has my guage sender in

just had a thought that it would have to in the top hose wont it ?
