starter

starter wasnt engaging right decided to take it off this morning and have a look the gear in starter has 8 teeth a mitsubushi starter . it is a 16 vitara engine fitted but not sure what box. Other post suggest gear in starter should be 9 teeth i have 95 reg astra and laguna lying about might take there starters off and see if any good .Also ring gear doesnt look the best :thumbdown:

I have actually taken my Astra/Laguna starter motor off now... (broke the solenoid, again lol)

I will count the teeth on it tonight! Once you have the tooth count it should just be a case of finding one with housing that matches. I'll take a pic of the housing as well

Well I didn't get to do it last night as I spent most of the evening going to get a replacement fuel tank!!!
I will give it another go tonight!
