Broken Throttle Cable..

Post by S1MON » Mon May 21, 2012 5:10 pm

Throttle cable snapped last night, on the pin that goes on the arm on the pedal. Tried to bodge it but I didn't have enough adjustment and it was just revving like hell.

I've rang all the local motorfactors and non of them do it.. Now i'm stuck with a DIY jobby.. Anyone know what i need exactly? I haven't taken the cable off yet, going to do that tomorrow so i've got something to compare.

Thanks for your help guys.

You can use bicycle brake cable and cable clamps (the ones you put the cable through then screw tight)

Which end? for the throttle pedal?

I guess the other end locks with a screw? Because will have to feed it through the sleeve?

The fat end nipple goes in the pedal

Keep the end in the red circle

you will probably have to file it to fit

IIRC the pin that goes in the throttle pedal arm is alot smaller. I haven't taken the cable end out of the Carb yet so i'm unsure what it looks like, sure it will all make sense tomorrow.
