Post by chrisj410 » Mon May 28, 2012 6:33 pm

Murdered my yellow top what batteries do you guys run?
I'm looking at numax, another optima or an odyssey? Anyone had good/bad experiences?
Cheers Chris

Very good experience with the Yellow Top!
I had it for 13 years! And i did winching and racing with my 413 LWB with this battery!
I bought me a new one!

i agree with the Halfords battery, although i dont run any auxiliaries like winches or spot lights it has never let me down, warranty is good but best of all if your in the trade (mechanics) i think the batteries are nearly half price!

Whenever I get Halfords batteries they seem to last 4 years and then die... still not bad for the price though!
Got my red top in there now.... it was completely flat for 6 months before I got it, charged it up fully and now it runs perfectly :)

Old Optimas were good and lasted forever, newer ones don't seem to be the same? my mates redtop died after a year :S but then again he seems to be able to kill any battery he ever owns

This is what I'm buying for my SJ http://www.tayna.co.uk/Numax-CXV-X-1000-Amp-P7632.html

J373,

My mates had a tintop shell they were scrapping about 2 months ago
I posted it on here but nobody seemed very interested so it ended up getting weighed in
It was very rusty though!

On mine I have a fibreglass hard top... much better imho, then you can be smug in the winter while your soft top friends freeze, and you can be smug in the summer when your hardtop friends bake :)
