GOT A HOLE IN My SUMP

got a 1-2mm hole in my sump :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: :argh: it drips about 1 drip a secound what is the best thing to do ive got another 1 liter engine is there any chance of repairing it as it is a small hole :pissed: :pissed:

Is it damage or rust. If the metal is still good just a bit of braze should do it, or just weld a little patch on.

there is no rust on it its just damaged and worn the metal i think i might change the sump over becouse it isnt that good has anybody changed a sump on a 410 before

get the sump off the other engine, clean it all up, make sure its all good, drain the oil from the leaking engine and swap them over taking care not to round the bolts off. dont forget to replace the oil. lol

simples.

just make sure the gasket is ok, other wise you may have more leaks.

ye chears thats what i might do took all bolts out of sump and the gasket is holding the sump up i think i might need a new sump gasket to be on the safe side

if your changing a sump on the car i think it helps to jack the front end up so it clears the axle while trying to move it off of the oil pickup. hope it helps.
