Well the other month I am driving along in my SJ413 and what sounds like the valves start clattering, slow down but a kilo further on it sounds dire so I stop, check the oil and off the stick, so I go and buy 4 litres of gtx and pour the whole lot in !!! Car starts and off we go, since then a slight clatter on start up but more or less OK however have emulsion in the oil filler cap and today found a small amount in the air filter box.
It has been using/losing oil even before the drama I guess because of a head gasket , head problem, anyone got ideas what I can expect when I take it in to be fixed. I see if a Jag has oil in the air filter box it's a new engine !.
I write this mainly to applaud the unbelievable Suzuki engine that still runs and can sound sweet as a nut despite the foregoing abuse !! and I believe will continue to do so as long as I remember to pour the oil in, I am now using SAE 40 as I live in Thailand and its hot. Before and maybe a cause of the problem I was using semi synthetic diesel motor oil.

Haha its an interesting story!!!
When I first had a 1.6 engine put in the guy stuck a wrong dipstick in it and overfilled it with oil.
It was spewing oil out into the airbox, then sucking it back into the engine and burning it!
Made some interesting smoke clouds!!!
In your case, possibly the head gasket has gone inbetween a cylinder and an oil passageway?
This would let oil into the cylinders and burn it, but could also increase the oil pressure and maybe blow it into the air box.
I would do a compression test to begin with and see how it works out

headgasket is an easy job on these, just use a straight edge and feeler gauges to check for any warping on the head before refitting it. if it's warped get a local engineering firm to skim it for you.
the PCV system vents off into the airbox on these so that would explain finding the emulsion in the airbox, might be worth giving your PCV valve a clean as well.
