cheers for all your suggestions and help guys, really appreciate it!

just jacked the rear up today and span the wheels with and without the aid of the engine and from using a big screwdriver like a stethoscope I listened to the diff which was pretty quiet and then more towards the end of the axle on drivers side and it sounded pretty grindy, after taking the wheel and drum off too the end bit of the axle with the 4 bolt studs on moves in and out a good 70mm or so.

Pretty sure it's gotta be wheel bearing, I hope!

I thought you said the wheel bearings were ok? :tongue: if you hold the wheel at the top and bottom/sides then wiggle it in and out or rocked it whilst jacked up I bet you'd have felt the play then. :doublethumbs:
