Re: Help Help HElp
has it snapped off? in a caliper or wheel cylinder? and is it flush with the surrounding ( cant see or get to any of the nipple thats left in the hole) ?
or has it fallen out and got lost?

Re: Help Help HElp
If its a caliper then I have successfully bled the brakes through the banjos twice now.
Be prepared for some mess but it gets the job done.

hmm as dan said it is pos to bleed thru the banjo. failing that you will have to drill and tap the caliper but its not ideal.
i used to get snapped bolts out with a tiny punch and a chisel but thats not overly easy with a caliper. you got any pics?

Re: Help Help HElp
Take the caliper off the carrier and get the pads well out of the way so they dont get contaminated.
Over a small bucket undo the banjo and remove the bolt through it.
Hold finger and thumb tightly over banjo while someone pumps pedal.
To re-fit hold the caliper so the hole where the banjo bolts in is the very highest point and make sure it is brimming with fluid.
Then screw the banjo back into the caliper whilst keeping it the same way up!
At this point fluid will be everywhere!
Then hold the banjo as high as the brake line will allow. Tap the line and caliper with a spanner to get any air to the highest point and nip it on and off a few times like you would with a standard brake bleed.
Now use a lot of rags/blue roll to get it clean again and re-assemble the rest of the brakes.
This makes it sound a lot harder than it actually is and if you are only trying to remove a small ammount of air you may be able to do it without actually removing the banjo.
I have done this twice now from a dry system with good results.

Well it Shouldnt be doing that is there anything in the hole for it stopping it fully closing? If you compare your old one to it does it look exactly the same?

Re: Help Help HElp
My guess is that when the old nipple that sheared was drilled out something was damaged in the thread.
