Thats the one , looks like a bearing. It's in the diagram above.

After having a quick read, it seems the overrunning clutch is meant to do this? If I try to the gear by hand it does only go one way, the same way that its spinning in the video but it wont turn the other way.

when you bench tested (video) it, you did have the leads the correct way round (polarity) didn't you ?? IE the starter wasn't spinning the wrong way was it ??

Yes, I clamped the negative onto the place where it normally mounts to the gearbox and put +ve to the spade connector.

Just watched a video on youtube regarding starter testing (albeit a different starter) and when he tested the overrung clutch by powering what I assume is the spade connector on ours, it just clicked the solenoid in and out but didnt spin up. I assume this is how it should be? As mine obviously doesnt do this and it wasnt spinning up yesterday when I tested the solenoid prior to all this trouble

Darrell wrote:The oil pressure/fuel pump safety switch normally fits on a tee piece along with the original pressure switch. This switch is special as it allows power to the pump when the starter is turning and then via the normal ignition circuit once it is running. Don't think most people bother ;)
Just thought I'd let you know. Facet no longer recommend using an oil pressure switch as they are no longer avalible instead they recommend wiring into the ignition system so as it cuts out when the engine is off.
