Headlights Stay On!

Post by Famerbennie » Sat Sep 01, 2012 6:34 pm

Being Busy Down On The Farm With Harvest The SJ Has Sat In The Garage And The Battery Went Flat, So Decided To Change The Battery For A New One Everything Worked Fine After This. My Dad Took It To The Doctor's The Other Day And Noticed That The Headlights Were Still On :er: He Turned Them On And Back Off Again But Still Stayed On So He Ended Up Pulling The Fuse Out. Any Idea's?

Is yours a Spanish built/santana model, if so it probably has a dip-dim unit. These are prone to screwing up and when they do the headlights stay on. The standard fix is to just disconnect it. It's in the passenger footwell and normally looks this, an aluminium box with cooling fins on. I would give this a try before anything else
