gear stick removal

gear stick removal

hi all, i need to remove my transfer box gear shift stick to top up the oil, just wondering how do i take it out?

Took one off a vitara other day sure it be similar. Remove cover that holds gaitter either 4 or 6 bolts. Then there be two bolts holding it to box one front one back. Remove these then pop it out

There is a filler hole on the transfer box to check and top up oil.

Anyway. To remove the shifter you need to take off the little rubber boot and that reveals a bayonet fitted clip on the lever shaft. Push it down and turn it and the lever will pop out.

thanks lads, il give it a go in the morning. i would use the proper filler hole but its been butchered, front diff drain plug is rounding too :(

Same thing happens to me with drain plug, best bet plenty ov heat and a chisel Nd hammer
