Re: MPG?
Just drifting back to the topic of miles per gallon; this last week my truck has averaged 35mpg. How about them apples?
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Re: MPG?
I've just started some running tests on mpg on mine. The last £30 got me about 120 miles averaging 25mpg
I need to do one with full tank next. Then I'm going to make a few adjustments and install the weber and recheck.

Re: MPG?
Must be a fuelling/timing problem
Re: MPG?
Correction on my mpg. Iv improved it to 27.7mpg. I think I might be able to get 30 with a bit of careful driving but not sure about 35
What would be a good mpg for an SJ with fairly standard spec ?

Re: MPG?
I've only got 35 because I'm cruising on a dual carriage way at 45mph. 30 to a gallon is to be expected I think.

Re: MPG?
Id say the average is 25 - 30, so yours sounds about right, in a book I have there is a road test for a 413, the average mpg during the test was 26.4 so 35 is really good and a little beyond normal expectations!

Re: MPG?
Yeah, I was surprised, but I've been concentrating on getting good fuel economy. Steady speed, very gradual acceleration, changing up earlier than I normally would, trying not to stop at junctions when and where I can help it by approaching a bit slower, turning the engine off in solid traffic.Tramp wrote:Id say the average is 25 - 30, so yours sounds about right, in a book I have there is a road test for a 413, the average mpg during the test was 26.4 so 35 is really good and a little beyond normal expectations!
