Hi all. Before I go to far I am after some thoughts.
I have just bought a 1986 SJ with a 1600 8v Vitara engine Weber carb (Present engine Blown up) The sj came with a spare engine 1600 Vitara 8v Injection.
I have put new engine back in with manifold & carb off other engine I have fed some fuel in and seems to starts and run OK.
Now The Query...
Old head is cracked so will use New Head.
Old head had manual Fuel Pump New one Does Not.
I have bought a Facet Fuet Pump Will this be OK as I cant see a return from weber carb to tank.
Will The Pump keep trying to Pump or when there is resistance do these pumps cut out ????
Or will it be better going for the SU conversion ???
If I go for SU what do folks use for the Tube between Inlet manifold and Carb ???
Sorry for so many questions just want some Thoughts of people who no doubt been there before.
Cheers Mike

A Facet pump should be fine. They are self regulating so the pressure should stay the same and a return pipe is not needed. They do not cut out.
I would connect it up with the weber and see how she runs
I though we could do with a bit more info on here about facet pumps so have found/done these.
Ideally an oil pressure switch should be used with the fuel pump for safety but it seems most people don't bother. Using a relay is recommended too.

Re: Fuel/Pump/Carb
Facet don't do oil pressure switchs. They recomend wiring it into to the ignition with a relay on their website.

Thanks for the thoughts I will give it a go.
