Hello Joe, This might be worth a read i understand its for a 1.3 engine but its pretty much the same.

Also being you have a 1.0 you will have to change the one of the engine mounts, to be honest i would say Scottie on here can tell exactly what you need to do being he has done it. ;)

I think you need a 1.3 gearbox, flywheel and clutch.

ok, so is there no way of coupling it with a 410 gearbox? even with a conversion plate, if anyone sells one?

The 1.3 flywheel is too big to fit into the bellhousing.

Sorry but using a 1.3 or the 1.6 gearbox are your only options

oh thats a shame:( i imagine 1.3 would be easier. but how about making a 1.3 engine fit a 4 speed box? would that work? could i put a 1.0 flywheel on it?

fly wheel won't fit the 1.3, I wouldn't really class the 1.3 as an upgrade either, I prefer the 1.0!

Because the 1.6 is a worthwhile upgrade and also means I have the stronger vit gearbox, a bigger clutch and have the option of the twin transfer boxes. If you have driven a 1l on 31s then you wouldn't ever run one with 33s!

On later 410s (fat prop) >around 84/85 the gearbox mount is in the same place, on early ones it isn't.
