vit 2l v6 into a SJ?
vit 2l v6 into a SJ?
was just thinking i know the 1.6 8v engine is a popular engine transplant for the SJ but what about the 2L V6? does anyone know if the adaptor for the 1.6 8v would fit the 2L V6?
just a thought, would it be a possible engine swap?

Re: vit 2l v6 into a SJ?
I must admit, I've thought about it.
I think it'd be a fun thing to do if you were building a Baja style truck with minimal bodywork and a full roll cage.
Isn't it a version of that G20 that they put in that Pikes Peak Hill Climb truck?

There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

The 1.6 is more than enough. Especially on standard ish sized wheels.
Janspeed manifold, LWB Vit vented discs and calipers

Re: vit 2l v6 into a SJ?
I wouldn't bother with the 2.0 v6, just go for either the 2.3 or 2.5v6 that picture above is a 2.5
or there's the j20 2.0 16v out of the gv2000, would be a lot easier to fit as it has the same bellhousing pattern as the g16, the hardest bit of the conversion is sorting out a flywheel and also of you run it with a 1.3 gearbox I can't imagine the clutch lasting too long.
As dan says though the 1.6 has more than enough power especially if you go for the 1.6 16v with mpfi
