Re: HELP ME!! i cant insure my zuk and dont want to sell her
My daughter is 19 in 3 days we got her a couple of quotes on the pug the Jimny and the SJ, tried loads of company's and the cheapest was £1,700 and that was on the SJScottieJ wrote:I really don't understand how they can justify charging over 3x the amount of the vehicles value on a vehicle that you can't drive fast and will only do just over 70mph it's so ridiculous, I feel sorry for you guys, it's not like you are little boy racers or the cocks out there who are slamming their s**t polo's to the point they scrape the subframes on the floor, have to remove the arb, the driveshafts are pretty much hitting the chassis, have far to much camber on the rear making the vehicle handle like crap and just generally turning their car into a death trap to 'look cool'
I don't think insurance companies understand that there are young guys like you lot out there who have taken the time to restore a vehicle that would otherwise have been scraped because your an enthusiast instead of just getting a car and driving like a knob to try and be cool
Instead they jus tar all young men with the same brush! I've never had an insurance claim in all the years Ive been driving (but yes I did once put my old golf gti into a bush )
So it pays to be female

That sounds a bit steep.ROBBIE wrote:My daughter is 19 in 3 days we got her a couple of quotes on the pug the Jimny and the SJ, tried loads of company's and the cheapest was £1,700 and that was on the SJScottieJ wrote:I really don't understand how they can justify charging over 3x the amount of the vehicles value on a vehicle that you can't drive fast and will only do just over 70mph it's so ridiculous, I feel sorry for you guys, it's not like you are little boy racers or the cocks out there who are slamming their s**t polo's to the point they scrape the subframes on the floor, have to remove the arb, the driveshafts are pretty much hitting the chassis, have far to much camber on the rear making the vehicle handle like crap and just generally turning their car into a death trap to 'look cool'

I'm 19 and I've been getting quotes of between £700 and £900 with no no claims (I lost it after a rich f*ck on a modified 125cc pretend moto GP bike ran into me whilst I was reversing. Insurers decided it was my fault because I was reversing regardless of his self endangering riding.)
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Re: Vitara car insurance ??
This whole vw craze drives me mad too. They must handle like shit. I new a lad with a saxo. To save money he just cut the springs to lower it. So nothing fit together right. The. He smashed it up and his mam bailed out by paying out for the other parties damage to keep police and insurance out of it.
Some of the lads struggling for insurance on here aren't that young either. Some of the early 20s lads struggle to insure an SJ. I was driving my T5R at that age and id had a claim by then too.
Its mental. My sammi is on limited milage. But thats because i genuinely don't do many miles. Think i did about 1800 last year going to work and jobbing about / days out. But work and back is all of 25mile a week.
My insurance seems to have plateaued now. And the KJA is only £145 as its standard.
Its a barmy setup how they do it. Colour matters? Wtf? And if hou get a quote today its £2000, tomorrow its £3000 and then £500 the next day?
Some policies can be cancelled no questions asked for 14 days i think. I used to get a quote every day and if i found it cheaper i would cancel the policy and take out the cheapest.
But how can i be insured for competetions, greenlaning, pay n play, but not for pace car use? That confused me.

Re: Vitara car insurance ??
2gether won for me. Massively cheaper than anyone else and even took my expired NCB into account.
Adrian flux said either I was too young for them (27) or the truck needed to be older so I could get one of their classic policies.
I love a tastefully lowered VW but there has to be a line somewhere.
If it cant clear an island style speed bump its too low. Silly camber is just stupid. As is this tyre stretching bollocks. The manufacturers clearly put a lot of effort into making tyres perform as well as possible on the correct width rim!!

Do you have a job? My brother just passed his test but has also had to stop working because his employer couldn't afford to keep him with the way things are. Putting down he had a job knocked £1500 off! and being at college knocks it down even further.
