Hi Lo 2wd 4wd...

Post by -Bradders- » Thu Jan 10, 2013 9:16 am

I wonder if anyone can help..

As you may have known i didnt have a driveshaft in the drivers side on my fatboy vitara.. however the part that locks into the transmission side, but last night i put in a driveshaft.. works a treat in 2wd low, 4wd low, however 4wd high works but i seem to have lost 2wd high? although... i knew this worked when i bought it, but... i've not used it since the day i got it so it might not have anything to do with the driveshaft, but why would i have every other gear just not 2wd high? i mean i can put it into the gear, but when i put it in 1st gear and accelerate, nothing happens? :bawling:

Any advice?

Thanks in advance :)

Ermmmm :er: You shouldn't have 2wd low??? The transfer box should only have 2high, 4high and 4 low unless it has been modified.

If you pop the shifter off I have found some pictures of where the selector forks should sit in each of these, If you manually put it into 2high then put the lever back on, hopefully it might sort it.

And the one you shouldn't be able to get into with the standard set up 2 low

Place face palm image here * * Lol

I could have sworn it drove in 2wd high/low before haha! maybe its just me being a doofus. i'll deffo have a look though! i got a little gear lever and a light that tells me when im in 4wd but its got 4 positions and when the 4wd light isnt on i assumed its in 2wd, so at the bottom i assumed its 2wd low then one step forward its 4wd low, then across and forward was 2wd high and then forward more was 4wd high... its the previous owners fault. he's replaced all the gear levers with some chavvy blue chrome handles so i cant tell which is which lol.

Thanks for your help!

Ps your pics aint working for me :(
