Problem, Little advice
Problem, Little advice
I thought i had a rear buckled wheel until I changed wheels and the wheel still seams to be buckled. Its the rear near side wheel, I don't no if its related but i have had the sj on its side whilst railroading.
Question how can i tell if the half shaft or something else is bent. Or can anyone think of anything else it could be.
I understand it hard to
tell if you cant see it, but if you tell me how to check or narrow it down i would appreciate it
thanks Andy

Re: Problem, Little advice
I should have said changed that wheel bearing under 500 miles ago because it was leaking and had collapsed

Re: Problem, Little advice
Could a roll bend a half shaft when it was pulled back on its wheels
Re: Problem, Little advice
I guess it could have bent it. It could have bent the half shaft itself, or the mounting for the wheels. I have heard of this, but I'm not sure how likely this is. I can't imagine bending a brake drum, So I would say to take everything apart, and check all parts if they are straight, and replace/fix any damaged parts
It's not a question of how much you spend on your suzuki, but when your money will run out
Re: Problem, Little advice
Ok ill get it in parts tomorrow and go from there
Re: Problem, Little advice
Bending a half shaft would be pretty hard to do to be honest but possible. it's also possible that the drum isn't sitting flush/true on the halfshaft flange, take the drum off, chock the front wheels, jack the back axle up and put it on axle stands, start it up and put in gear so the halfshaft spins, you'll see of the halfshaft is bent when its spinning, if its true then clean it up and refit the drum and do the same. I'm sure you'll see the problem doing that
