UJ is ******

I took mu front driveshaft off to give it a clean and paint. I found while I was handling it, that the UJ would lock up under certain angles. I figured the UJ must be shagged. So, do you just replace the crosspiece in it? or does it also have bearings in there? any help would be greatly apreciated
