Which Exhaust?
Which Exhaust?
It's time to look at getting the exhaust replaced on my '88 SJ
Last year I put a standard replacement on my Samurai that cost about £90 for full exhaust
Back in the early 90's I ran my '87 SJ with a Janspeed exhaust - that felt like it gave a little more power and, in my opinion, sounded better
What have you got? And if you don't mind me asking what did you pay and where did you buy?
Thanks
Paul

Re: Which Exhaust?
Quite a few people here run cherry bombs.
Mine is just welded up from loads of old bits of exhaust and attaches to the standard front box.
Its loud and pops and bangs a bit with some added fire every know and again

Re: Which Exhaust?
Custom stack. Bespoke made by a local exhaust manufacturer. Only issue i was too cheap for stainless.
Hoping to replace it this year with stainless twin stacks, poss straight thru!

Re: Which Exhaust?
A cheery bomb connected to the down pipe then some flexy to a cheery bomb back box. Sounds great, as Dan said pops and bangs and spits flames on the over run
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good

Re: Which Exhaust?
Got a full janspeed on mine makes a nice burble they are blooming expensive tho. I got mine second hand. Had a straight through rear box on the pick up used to pop and bang on the overun, used to make people jump.

Re: Which Exhaust?
Found the pic!
You can hear it a mile off and the noise going under bridges, tunnels and multi storeys!
Steep down hills on the engine brake, plenty of banging and popping. I love it!

My dads got a janspeed on his 410, it is nicer than the original bit they are hard to find nowadays, do pop up now and again though.

Re: Which Exhaust?
Wouldn't mind a 1600 tubular manifold, may see how much to get one made.
