Kiwizook's resto
Re: Kiwizook's resto
So I bought a welder, so that means I can do a lot more at home now its a 120 amp mig welder, I just have to get some gas for it now
So is it best to get some co2, argon or a co2/argon mix? I know that co2 is a lot cheaper than argon, but I was just wondering about qualityIt's not a question of how much you spend on your suzuki, but when your money will run out

Re: Kiwizook's resto
they're like 180 pounds to buy over here. you can also hire one which costs like 80 pounds a year. and then it's like 26 pounds to fill it up. I can also get some 10oz throw away cans, so i might have a look at that. So gas is quite expensive really

Re: Kiwizook's resto
So I had this idea quite a while back.
I though I would put a big vinyl on my bonnet once I have sprayed it all properly. This is what I was thinking of (just one of the two) ( the 45 stands for 45 HP) . I will get a better looking 45 on the horses, but you get the idea. depending on cost I might put one on each door too

Co2 argon mix is what you want for thin body work.
Dont even bother with little hobby canisters they are false ecomomy.
20L over here is £140 but part of that was a returnable deposit on the bottle.

Re: Kiwizook's resto
due for a update. I am now completely stripping the chassis and going to paint it all properly. I have taken off the back axle and springs, all driveshafts, and the tbox. Going to clean it up with a wire wheel, and weld any rust I come across.
I got a welding course starting on monday, so hopefully I will learn how to do some proper welding, looking forward to it. I hope to get some pics up soon, so watch this space

Re: Kiwizook's resto
there is some rust on two of the tray supports, so I'll have to weld some new ones on, no big deal. Also the t box mounts aren't very flash, so I'll have to fix them too.
I'll try to not forget to use the mask, but you never know
