Post by dazerede » Fri Feb 08, 2013 7:22 pm

You could give this a try. The more tyre revolutions you do the more accurate it would be, but as long as you divide the driveshaft revolutions by the tyre revolutions your be fine

You may need a hand to count it though :D

The diff carrier is physically bigger on 413 axles you should be able to see the difference by eye but if you measure the face say where the diff bolts into the axle say between the top and bottom bolts the. you'll see if what you have are 410 or 413 axles.
I presume they are the same width as your existing axles? All the parts apart from the diffs themselves are interchangeable between 410 and 413 axles.

Wright just measured the diff size and they are about 17-18mm about the same

But I will do the spin thing later

I have just realized that I have stripped the .410 front axle ages ago and only have diff and shafts left

So hopefully this us a 410 axle

17-18mm? that's a bit small for a diff  how exactly did you measure it? The length from the diff mounting face to the pinion flange is also different on 413 diffs they are longer than 410 diffs

I meant 170-180 mm or 16 3/4 inches
Just cane back from work and will have dinner and I shall compare it to my 410 diff
