Hi
Not sure if this is the correct section...
Im a newbie to the site and maybe missed something. Ive looked on the internet a bit but not really finding anything concerning pipe benders. Im after something that can do decent mandrel bends for rollcage and exhaust/header bending. What are you guys using or what would you recommend? Are there companies you can recommend who make them, though i would probably also look at buying something second hand if i could.
Thanks
Pipe benders
Re: Pipe benders
I've got a cheap crush type bender but it's crap and I never really use it because its hard to get good bends without lots of prep, you want a rotory draw type bender like a JD2 for the best results. They are well priced as well, I'm going to start saving for one myself soon.
Re: Pipe benders
Yeah im definately not looking for one of the crush benders, i came across the jd2 before but seems it cost quite a bit when your buying in the various die sets, ideally i would like something able to go upto 2.5".ScottieJ wrote:I've got a cheap crush type bender but it's crap and I never really use it because its hard to get good bends without lots of prep, you want a rotory draw type bender like a JD2 for the best results. Re: Pipe benders
The JD2 is one of the cheapest good quality benders that you will find really, unless you buy some dies and make your own http://www.pirate4x4.com/forum/showthread.php?t=376183" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I'm afraid its not really going to that cheap no matter what if you want a selection of dies etc.

Yeah, it seems for the money it is pretty damn good, i may but 2 or 3 dies. I was looking at the baleigh bender aswell which is quite a bit more but pretty similar to the jd2. Think im going to go with the jd2 model 32 manual bender.
Ive seen a distributor in holland and england but havent yet emailed them for a price, does anyone know where it is best to buy from???
