1.6 conversion inlet manifold gasket

Post by dcallaghan2011 » Mon Nov 21, 2011 7:44 pm

Hi, I have just hot my 1.6L carb vitara engine up and running in my SJ, however i need to replace the inlet manifold gasket before it can go anywhere, I have used the 1.3L SJ manifold as I already had a webber carb and everything setup on it, so i was wondering what gasket I should use?

Thanks,

Dan

The top one looks like a 1.3 gasket i fitted to a friends the other day. The lower one is a 1.6 obe but i guess either will fit. The studs and holes are all in the same place and the difference in the size of tge ports is less than a mill.

i used the top one. as its slightly thicker.

as i had the other one on when i fitted it to the previous engine.. it failed rather quickly on its own.
