Valeo starter motor siezed, stuck and cracked :(

Post by Henry » Fri Jul 17, 2009 4:01 pm

So the engine is in, everything done.... went to turn the key, nothing :( Got the starter motor inside and stripped it down. Rusty, muddy water pored out

I think this may have had something to do with it

I tried to tap the casing with my spanner, but then i ended up breaking these little things...

So im guessing that the starter is now scrap? Or can i fix it, or can it be fixed? Someone said to me that these "skinny" starters can be hard to come by....

So what can i do? Has anyone got one i could buy off them. I did have another starter motor that fitted, but i lost the piston thing out of the solenoid and plus it isnt a Valeo.

Any help much appreciated... Henry

Eurocar parts is the place to try for a cheap direct replacement. Take your old one in when you go to collect it though as they often supply the wrong part tome and have to work out what I need.

Otherwise, keep an eye on ebay.
