Another Alternator Question

Ok here is a quander for you all
Start her up got 12.4v at battery oil pressure light on
Give her a blip say to 1500 revs Oil Pressure light goes out 4WD light comes on and Volts go up to 14.5 volts, let her tick over and all seems good,apart from 4WD light stays on !!!!!
Only thing i have noticed is the rectangle plug has 2 Big white and yellow wires,1 thinner wire and I have noticed there is another spade connector on alternator Any Ideas ?????

Are you in 4wd? the 4wd light is just on a simple circuit so maybe the switch is stuck or there is a short in the circuit somewhere.

Does the battery light come on with the ignition but go out as soon as you start it/blip the throttle? 14.5v is spot on, might just be the brushes sticking, there's a few different alternators available. Can you post up a good picture of the back of the alternator so we can see how it's wired up.

What colour is the thinner wire?
