Jimny engine in Sami (3 parts)
Help me out here people I am just scheming a bit. Firstly, background - in Cyprus you cannot fit bigger engines (vit) in to your Sami.
No1 the G13BB Jimny engine is now fitted to Mauruti's what if I wanted to fit one to my Sami? I know the electrics will need sorting - will the loom for fitting the 1600 vit 16 valve be the same?
No2 The G13BB produces 80 hp which on paper is the same as the vit 8v does it have the same torque?
No3 I mentioned the electrics, but mechaniclly, what is involved?
Thanks .... Hope the above makes sense?

Don't know the answers to those, but how about the old 1300 twin cam swift GTi engine?

I have had a quick look and cannot find reference of a 1300 twin cam?? What was it fitted to? And I guess the next question would be what are the torgue figures like - I would guess that is all top end torgue?

Mechanically I'm *fairly* sure that a G13B, BA or BB will all mate up to a 413/samurai gearbox no trouble. You might have to swap flywheels and things but I think block to bell-housing should be no problem.
The engine electrics will want to come out of the doner car with the engine really. That'd be the easiest way to do it.

There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

The twin can was in the old style swift GTi. I think it mates upto the 413 box. The only fitment issue is the dizzy sticks out the back.
Rhino Ray does a adaptor or you can mod the bulkhead.
It's about 100bhp, not sure on torque figures.

Nothing really wrong Mark just dreaming a bit "fancy" more poke as I fancy 31" tyres. Luke I really not convinced about the LWB of the maruti a) resale is poor because all the young bloods here think they are very uncool and b) not sure I like the idea of the overhang at the rear that I have been told about but not checked out yet myself.
Plus the 1.3 keeps me legal, and I am guessing, may be more fuel efficient than the vit 1.6 8V

Re: Jimny engine in Sami (3 parts)
I've got 31s on at the moment with a standard 1300 and 413 t/box and it copes surprisingly well. Lacks top end speed. Binding on knackered front calipers aren't helping.
When everything is working ok quite happily does 60mph.
Thought about just swapping the t/box?
