Not a lot I can do to help right now.

I will compare my mounts and my Mrs mounts tomorrow to familiarise myself with the difference between 1300 and 1000 and get back to you.

From the photo showing the dizzy against the bulkhead its clearly not right.

Did you use the original bracket (bit with the built in rubber held on with 4 bolts) from the cross member to the gearbox or use the one from the 1300 gearbox. Maybe these are different lengths?

1600 block mated to 1300 gearbox with 1300 mount on a later chassis should sit further forward than this.

Like I said I will measure the 410 and Sammy I have here tomorrow to see what could be offsettig it.

Just measured my Mrs 1986 410 against my 1990 Samurai.

The 2 gearbox brackets (the bit with the rubber on it) appear to be the same length.

However the mount itself is in different positions.

The distance from the tube cross brace under the gearbox to the mount for the gearbox bracket on the chassis vary by 3cm.

Hers was 41cm and mine 38.

Ah so maybe on the 1.3's the tube welded onto the chassis is in a diff place? I will have a look at work tomorow to see if i can understand what u mean alittle better. Thx

The tube bolts on in the same place I guess. Think your gearbox mount may be 3cm further back

Dan I'm not sure if the small removable bar will be a good reference point for measurements? did you check it is in the same position on both chassis?

Right here's how my mate Mark did his, I'm wondering if you've just got the engine up too high? the engine mounts on the 1.3 are lower.

O/s mount. bit of 5mm plate ebnt to make up a box section.

I did a similar thing using some 4mm angle and plate.

All welded up.

Note how the centre of the oil filter is about level with the top of the chassis rail
