stuck starter or is it ......
ok so put a g16a in my sj413 conversion was vry straight forward had few issues but nothing major. Until i got to the starter! after getting a few diffrent units i managed to get a bosch unit off a 1.6 16v vitara the problem is some tiimes the engine will spin overbut somtimes its "jamms" it will crank almost as tho the battry is flat and wont start! i have chevked batt and thats fine checked all the earths and other wiring on ign side and sll seems fine. any ideas????

Its probably the starter motor! My one was doing this for a while til I put a different one on.
I havent actually taken it apart yet to find out what was causing it but I think I've lost a bit of magnet from the inside of the motor

Slacken the starter mount pins and move the starter away from the engine block and then retighten pins it sounds like the starter is to hard in mesh with the flywheel ring gear

Brill cheers lads il try slackening first then if that dont work try another unit. I did bench test the unit befor fitting tho and all seemed fine.

ok so moved starter away was fine for about 3 turn overs now making a horrible "crashing" noise??
