I have read that the probable cause of sump oil leak is a blocked PCV. I have tested the rocker cover (aka valve cover) at idle. Put card over open oil top up hole and got some suction so pcv seems to be at least partially working. Replaced the oil filler cap and took oil dipstick out and the leak stopped. Is it possible that there is a partial blockage between the valve cover area and the sump. There was a lot of muck under the valve cover - almost like sawdust - got it cleaned out but maybe some found its way into an air breather hole?.
Should the vacuum in the valve cover be seriously strong or just detectable.
Not leaking from distrib or from front crank seal. Both fixed checked. Leak appears from front right hand of sump.

Screw the PCV valve out of the manifold and clean it out with a bit of carb cleaner or similar.
It has a ball bearing in it that should be free and you should be able to blow through it.
