My missus's vitara

Post by Tramp » Tue Mar 26, 2013 1:52 pm

I was driving to work yesterday & I was thinking about how few photos I take of my Missis's vitara, my last ones were from around 2-3years ago. After my night shift there was a bit of ash fallout on the vit so I thought I'll use works jetwash and take a photo or two (things always look best just after they are washed!)

When I drive our lasses vitara I enjoy it, its nice, comfortable and large enough to be practical. We have been talking about getting rid (swapping for an estate car) but then when I drive it I fall back in love with it, and when the weathers like this I appreciate it a whole lot more! There are a few things I don't like about it, I don't like how much fuel it uses, the engine can feel underpowered at times (2litre 16v - sometimes I wish we had the other engine options) as it feels like it could use an extra gear, at 60mph the motor is running at 3000rpm So anything more just feels busy! Finally the bit I dislike the most is my Missus and kids use it all the time a nd they don't tidy up after themselves!

Nice! Karis really likes those GV's, shame we can't really afford one.

The GV i had was nice. Only had the 1600 though, drank fuel. looked nice but practicality was a joke. No boot.

There are some pics on here somewhere.

Yeah, the boot isn't huge, which is disappointing considering it is the lwb. I'll be honest when Natalie wanted to buy it, she looked at this, a freelander and a shogun sport, I steered her towards the shogun as it was diesel and I thought it would be a better car, Nat wanted the Grand Vitara because it looked nicer, so we ended up with it - in fairness i didn't object to much as it was x100 better than the freelander & it was nice that it had the low box & was suzuki. She bought it on finance 4 years ago, we have a year left now. It's the first car I've ever had to pay finance on, I don't think id want to do it again just because you end up paying so much in interest. At the moment its a great family hack and will probably last us until we have more kids when I'd Like a delica!

There nice cars. Mine was just permanant 4wd.

Suzuki are cheap enough to buy, the swifts have always been economical and i've never had any reliability issues with them. Thirsty is the major issue with bigger Suzukis and lack of toys / bit basic inside.

I'd have another GV if it was the right spec and price.

Yeah, this is permenant 4wd with an electronic switch for 4wd low, I think only the lwb has the low box. I can remember going and sitting in a metallic black swb (new shape GV) whilst my zook was still legal, I really liked it, more than the lwb. But I didn't like the fact that swbs don't have the low box and that they didn't offer a diesel engine. They do look nice though!

Proper tarts car like. But i enjoyed owning it. Gutless, thirsty, no cruise control. Stupidly expensive tyres (20" rims). One of those "saw it, want it, bought it" items. Had no need for all the cars so some went. The Volvo, the swift, the vit, then i got the Exeo. Not a BMW or RS4 but economical, comfortable, all the gadgets.
