I'd guess it's referring to the transmission. The 'T'-ransfer box does 'LO'-w ratio and '4'-wheel drive. That's just a guess.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

it seems the important info is that it is the Diesel Pick up, as these are the only models that use my engine.

although, if i need to get parts for the tranny then i should find out if there are variants withing the SJ series.

any thoughts?

well sj's are worked out like this...

SJ410 - Suzuki Jimny 4 Cylinder 1.0

SJ413 - Suzuki Jimny 4 cyilinder 1.3

thats why the sj's with the 1.6 conversion is nicknamed the SJ416 this is just a conversion, never actually produced with the 1.6 vitara engine

yours is 1.9D right? but there was never a sj called the 419

so by looking at the pics of your suzuki it looks more like a Samurai/413 just with coils and a different engine right?

yours has the SJ410/Samurai bonnet

i googles LO4T earlier and it only seems to come up with the 1.9D LWB like yours...

hope this is some help..

here is a bit of information that might help you, its the history of the suzuki jimny since 1970 and might help a little but there doesnt seem to be anything about the 1.9D...

no problem, i just read in wikepedia that the new facelifted model (yours) with the 1.9 diesel engine has the rounded bumpers which basically describes yours right? with coil springs?

Santana built Samurais did not benefit from the updated coil sprung chassis introduced in 1998, instead receiving a facelift (new grille, more rounded bumpers) specific to European and neighboring markets. Around the same time, Santana also developed a version which used PSA's XUD 9 1.9-litre turbodiesel, producing 63 hp.[13] Top speed was 130 km/h.[14] Spanish Samurai production ended in 2003.

the XUD is a peugoet engine, and from working on a few peugeot's and renault's ive noticed they share alot of parts, maybe they share the 1.9D engine used in your suzuki...

I've been searching all over the place and kept finding you have already been there :D
The f8q was fitted to quite a few models

But when searching for part numbers I didn't have much success.
Some company's want your engine number to make sure the gasket set is correct so it may be worth going down that route. Somebody like this may be worth contacting

hi Darrell,
i have been hunting around for information on my motor for over a year now.

i still cannot find out how much variation there is between various F8Q motors.

i realize they are more alike than different, but it is a bit sketch to order parts without knowing for sure they will fit.
