Vitara Bits That Fit an SJ?
Hi all,
I recently swapped a Vitara engine into my SJ. I wanted to maintain the integrity of the loom so I bought a whole Vitara rather than an engine cut from one.
Now that the SJ is running the Vitara engine, I'm left with an almost whole Vitara. Does anyone know if there are any other bits worth stripping that will transfer from a Vitara to an SJ?
Thanks

As greg says the pas will fit, if its a longwheel base then i think sometimes calipers n discs fits on some sj axles not 100% sure though and you can make the gearbox fit but i again im not 100%sure what you have to do

Keep the front brakes, they can be used on an SJ, I also fitted the brake servo and master cylinder on mine.
Tom you can make the gearbox fit but its quite a bit of work.

Re: Vitara Bits That Fit an SJ?
Thanks everyone. I already have power steering on my SJ but will strip the relevant parts as spares. Is that it? I didn't think many bits would be interchangeable but I thought there may be one or two more than that!

I'm sure there's probably some other small bits that you can find a use for, what was the gearbox like? Mileage and any whines/noises etc?

From memory it was better than my current one!
I'm looking at a couple of 413 boxes on ebay at the moment, I think it will be easier just to do a straight swap than go with the hassle of fitting the Vitara box in.

Quite a few...seats, steering wheel, wheels, locking hubs (I think) err..gear knobs too
Other bits to keep might be the horn, battery, jack kit etc.

If it ticks over...leave it
