Are the tyres Radial? If so you can't just use normal inner tubes because of the way the tyres flex it can create heat and rub against the tube eventually causing the tube to fail.

You can get thicker tubes designed for use with radial tyres but I haven't had much luck finding a supplier.

Iv put tubes in many a farm veichle and never had a problom, always on tubeless tyres aswell, the farmers seem to fit tubes by default even with brand new tyres, sometimes necessary because the rims were pretty shot but yea, unless running silly low pressure should be ok.
get a klebor or Michelin tubes and will be fine.
how ever if you do run low pressures they can rip the valves off the tubes if the tyre spins on the rim.
seen that alot aswell mainly on mowers and golf carts but it does happen.

Yeah it would be fine for offroad and slow moving vehicles but if you use your SJ on road I wouldn't advise running normal tubes with radial tyres as the higher speeds create more friction and heat.
