Turbocharging the SJ413.

Post by Jerry Atrick » Sat May 18, 2013 11:49 am

Can anyone tell me the name of a company or individual that could provide a turbocharger conversion for my SJ413? According to my SJ Enthusiast's Companion, Allard used to provide this service but I've been in touch with them and Alan Allard has told me that such conversions haven't been available for several years.

I'v never seen a turbo conversion kit for sale, but you should be able to source most of the parts quite easily. The only problem part is the manifold. Iv seen a couple of home made turbo manifolds. They looked quite crude, but it did the job. Or i'm sure you could get one cutom made.

They stopped doing the turbo kit not long after the Vit was launched, the 1.6 conversion is a lot simpler and more reliable, it must be ten years since I saw a turbo'd SJ come up for sale. You could try asking on Zukiworld.com, there are a few turbo conversions on there.
