4/5 speed problems

hi all new to the site and straight away I have a Cpl of questions I have just put an engine and 5 speed box into my old 83 sj to replace the knackered old one and 4 speed box I have replaced the skinny prop with the later fatter one but it almost fouls the crossmember between the old gearbox mounts does anyone know how to get around this also has anyone got any ideas or pics on how to make up a new gearbox mount thanks ppl as I,m struggling a little bit lol :P

thanks Darrell that's a really good write up and really helpful I,m still a little concerned about the crossmember though as the new prop only just misses it and not sure if this is ok or not cheers
