kill switch
with car thefts on the rise and my suzuki being a soft top ive been thinking about security.
has anyone ever fitter a switch to isolate the battery from the ignition? was thinking of using one of those battery isolator switches that you see used with winches.
has anyone used em or had any experience with em?

Seen a few in back of gloveboxes etc.
Not the most secure but might do something to stop em.
No different to a hidden switch for the coil or similar.

I've got a kill switch, and they are good for that, not high security though.
For security I agree with Dan and go for a switch on the coil circuit. It doesn't even need to be hidden, as it could be "disguised" as a fan, spot lights or other obvious switch only you know what it really does.
Or even take the steering wheel off!!

I don't have an isolator switch, however you won't be starting mine in any hurry

i had a cut switch in my old 410 coz it was a raggy. if your your good at wiring and relays n stuff you could do something cleaver, i drove an old car once where you had to flash the main beam twice to turn the immobilizer off! very cool B)

those red key kill switches are a good safety measure, however not the last work in anti theft as the keys are generic.
when i got my SJ there was a slim rocker switch inside the glovebox that cut the coil, i didn't know about it till one day when it just would not start, chased it back to the switch that i had hit throwing my wallet in.
