My 2nd Sj

Thort I'd tell u about my second sj it's a sj413 I brought it off a bloke who had it in his garden for 7 years,I done the deal and towed it home ( brakes sticking so had to keep stopping ) .first thing I did was put new battery on changed all oils and filters ( air box full of corn so mice had moved in) removed spark plugs and put little bit of oil in and turned it over by hand (fhew engine wasn't seized ).So I Thort what the hell and put a gallon of fuel in it,tried the key it turned off but no go ,so sat scratched me head and remembered it was auto-choke but was it working ? ,So plan b was pump the throttle like mad and try it, WOW it started !!! Choke wasn't working so kept foot on throttle till engine got warm and then amazingly it ticked over a little slow but it was ok.
So over the next few months I patched up the really bad arches and a hole by window,then a quick clean and check of all brakes (1 caliper seized but after some oil and a little tap it's free and moving) .Plan was then take it for a mot so they can spot any jobs I need doing to make it road worthy.
Booked it in and drove nicely there better than my other left it and returned a hour later and another Wow it passed with a few advisories ,slight play in left front wheel,pin hole in exhaust and wipers starting to split ! So drove home with a bigger smile and taxed it same day

Looking a little better but want a hard top,hav a us carb now but it's missing a few bits
