Hello everyone,
I own a Jimny 1300cc since 2001 and, a few weeks ago, I started to get the intermittent trouble reported into the subject of this topic.
I went into a garage to have the liquid for the pump changed and purged: it worked for one week.
Then the mech said that he had never seen such kind of problem and, removing the screw between the steering and the wheels, all looks OK and the steering and the wheels, independently, show no blocking point when moved fully left to right and backwards.
Before this happening, no shock was experienced with the Jimny on the road !
Please, do you think that I should try the steering box adjustment ? Or put oil int the steering pivots/hubs ?
Thanks in advance four your gentle advices and nice journeys to you,
Germain

It could be a CV joint locking up maybe, have you tried it on a loose surface in 4wd turning from lock to lock while driving? Try this and listen out for any clicking coming from the front axle.

Thank you Scottie, but I guess that the CV joint isn't the culprit: the default occurs when I'm totally stopped in 2wd mode too !
