Rear Disc Conversion Plans

Post by NylonAdmiral » Sat Jun 01, 2013 11:39 am

Has anyone machined themselves the necessary bits for a rear disc conversion?

I read the "how to" guide on here which described how to do it by cutting up some caliper carriers and other bits but it occurred to me I could probably actually make the necessary parts myself.

I have access to a lathe and a mill but wondered if anyone else had done this? If so, has anyone got a drawing for the parts that they'd mind sharing as this would significantly reduce the time it would take for me to make the bits!

Thanks

I've got the muddy zook kit which I'm happy with. Think its a bit cheaper too.

Was just looking at theirs too actually. If you reckon it's good I think I might be tempted to get a kit rather than try and fabricate one.

Might well do, it depends how quick you can find them as I need to get on with this! :)

I have a CNC mill so making ten sets is as easy as making one. The only problem is that it actually has a pretty small working envelope so not sure I'll actually be able to. On the other hand I have a friendly machinist so might speak to him...

That was quick!

I don't suppose you have one for the disc mounts do you?
