Diff oil 80w/90 gl5 ?

Post by SteveR » Mon Jun 03, 2013 1:38 pm

Could someone please clear something up for me as here in Italy not sure about oil labels.

For the SJ diffs, is 80w/90 gl5 gear oil automatically hypoid gear oil. have found some oil here and just says 80w/90 gl5 transmission oil no mention of HYPOID.

Just to be clear, does gl5 transmission gear oil also mean hypoid suitable.

thanks
Steve

Thanks folks for clearing that up. Grazie

Now I can go and have fun trying to fill all boxes and diffs after having let them drain for 48 hrs.
