sj410 gear knob removal

Anyone managed to remove the gearknob off a 410 gear stick before? mines stuck on solid i need it off as ive got a 5 speed box in now and want to change to a 5 speed knob.It is stuck solid and id like to take it off without damaging it if possible???

Its a normal thread mate if you cant get it off the give it a splash of wd40 for a few days then keep trying. It worked for my steering wheel so should with you gear knob. Becareful because if they are the same as sammys and 413 you can damage the plastic thread well easily.

i had to use an oil filter removal tool to get mine off, it was just dead stiff but it came off. If you dont want to use your current one again just drill a hole straight through the side and use a screw driver or something to get some leverage?
