Or just fit complete 413 axles with 413 diffs to save money and time.

I beg to differ!
They can but they need 8 additional valves in them ;)
For 8v engines though you're definitely right on that one
In strength terms not power, You can thrash an f10a to death and rev the tits out of it all day as long as its healthy. The G series (not including swift gti) bottom ends can't handle the same sort abuse and will eventually throw a rod or kill the bottom end. How many F series engines have you known to throw a rod? I've not heard of one but I know a fair few people who have done it with a G-series engine, Trotter for one  Karis's engine was the first F series I've had a bottom end failure (at 70mph) and it was still holding some oil pressure and didn't throw a rod :hahaha:

And Jay providing you get the sammy diffs with the early smaller flange PCD they bolt straight up.

so sj413 axles will bolt straight to my 410 springs with changing axle perches or anything like that?

would my 410 brakes all fit to the 413 axles? and would my 410 prop shafts bolt straight up to the diffs?

would i have to modify my steering to fit the 413 axles?

Jay - Yes 413 axles will go straight onto your springs, I would go for the 413 brakes as they are bigger and better. 410 prop shafts will bolt on okay, as scott says if they have the early small holes on teh flanges
Not sure about the steering...

Scott - My mate bust a rod on his 410! Grenaded the engine pretty much, mind you this is the same person that managed to slip his cambelt 4 or 5 teeth round while racing a Skyline in a 413.. could explain it!

413 will all bolt up no problem. The only thing I dont know about is the flange size on the diff.

Just remember if the holes are different you can do a cheeky drill job ;)

Any engine will blow up if you try hard enough, just saying the F series are stronger ;)

I answered the prop flange question in my last reply ;) It's only the late samurai diff flanges that are different, make sure you get ones with 8mm bolt holes.

413 and 410 front brakes are identical ;) they've only used 2 different calipers on SJs, Aisin or Girling, the small variations in shoe size between SJs won't make any difference either.

And as for the ratio questions, this should answer it all so you can work out what set up to run.

413 and samurai gearboxes have a different 5th gear ratio so I have added an extra column to each set up to show the difference, 1st-4th share the same ratios. might need to click on it to see the full size image.
